Question Wheel ticking on 1990 Aerostar

Hi,

I've got a 1990 Aerostar and a friend who rode with me pointed out that the front passenger side wheel is ticking. He said it will eventually lock down if something isn't done about it. Can anyone tell me what the problem is, and how to prevent it from locking down? My connection is too slow to watch videos, but can anyone suggest any photos about how to do whatever it is that needs doing, like a tutorial or something? Are there any other forums that would be more appropriate places to ask about this?

Thanks for any help!
David

Does the we'll tick constantly when you're driving? Drive the car slowly in a figure 8 in a parking lot. If the noise is a half shaft you will hear the click as you turn that direction. If it is the halfshaft, it should be replaced quickly. I would suggest you buy a repair manual and you will need several specialized tools as described in the book.

Since it's rear wheel drive, I'd raise the right front and roll the tire by hand to see if you can hear it. Also look for a rock in the threads.

Sorry I realized my mistake but have not had time to respond yet raise the tire off the ground and spin it slowly to see if you can find the noise
