I have a 99 Windstar and am hearing a whistling noise when driving, it does not happen when van is idling in park. The sound goes high pitch and low pitch, performance does not seem affected, but is very aggravating. It does not make sound all the time , it comes and goes while driving, and doesn't matter what speed van is going. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.....thanks

hey my auto shops teacher told me something similar to this. like he could hear it in the top end of the motor, on an old buick. it was some kind of a rubber plug or a ring that a mechanic not paying attention had forgotten to put on. i forget where though. sorry i can't be more help man

I have the same situation, but haven't figured out where it is coming from. It made the noise all day yesterday on a 200 mile trip and got louder throughout the day. Today driving around town, it's not doing it.
