The Power Locks On My Truck Are Not Working Correctly.
The Easiest Way To Explain It, They Are “sticky”.

When I Try To Lock Or Unlock, The Plunger Tries To Go Up Or Down But Only Moves An 1/8th Of An Inch.
The Power Windows Work Without Any Problems.

It Seems Odd That Both The Driver Side & Passenger Side Have The Same Problem At The Same Time.
Otherwise, I’d Assume It Was A Motor.

Someone Said It Might Be A Relay.

I am having the same problem, but only on the front passenger side. The other three are working fine.

Hello from Australia, I had the same problem in my 1993 F-350. Solved by spraying all of the door lock linkage with W-D40 to blow all the old dried grease and dust out of the entire mechanism and the electric solenoid linkage that locked the doors. Then cleaned and dried a bit and sprayed same with white Lithium foaming light grease that dried kind of waxy but did not seem to collect dust as bad. Reduced friction and BINGO Shes Right now!!

Mine is doing the same except its both the front and rear passenger side door locks. I would just think its the motors but if its both then that dont sound right.

I just picked up an 01 F250 7.3L and have the exact same problem described above. I have read it could be a switch or actuator. I have the door apart and have sprayed WD40 back in there to no avail. Any help would be greatly appriciated to isolate this problem.... Thank you in advance!

If lubing the actuators do not help, then you will need to replace them. These are common on these models.

Thanks for the info.... I replaced the actuators today and everything works like a charm. I found detailed instructions along with photos on the web.

We are having this problem on out 02 explorer too. Seems to be worse in the colder (winter) months. After some research on some explorer forums it seems this is a "typical" problem.....
