On my way to work the other morning and check engine light came on. Running fine, everything seems to be normal. Gas mileage is good and no appearant problems (well, except need tires..lol) Mileage sits at 118K. Figure it might be a mileage alert that time for tune-up? Thing is...if it's not broken...don't fix it. Are there any codes that come up due to time/length of mileage? Taking in to an 'alternative' garage tomorrow PM rather than Ford. Just trying to get a 'heads up' if anyone has had a similar problem.

Take it to Autozone, or Advance Auto to have the OBDII code read...they will give you a idea of what may be the problem...Make sure you get the specific code...will start with a "P"...then let us know what it is...also here is a link that has the codes:

Ditto with the OBDII free read at Autozone, these guys really help the blue collar people. May be a bit too simple but did you happen to buy gas that morning before the light came on? Check your gas cap, make sure it's tight. What code(s) did you get?
