03 f250 sucking down diesel

Hey guys,
I just bought my 03 F250 with the 6.0, It has 87000 miles on it and I filled it up on Tuesday and have driven a total of 52 miles and I'm down to almost 1/2 tank. I kniw that this can't be accurate but not sure where to start looking for the promlem. Any advice will be appreciated.

My guess would be inaccurate gauge. Fil it back up and see how much it takes

Did it go to full when it was filled? If the key is on when they're filled, the gauge doesn't always go to full right away.

Stock they do over 9 miles to the gallon. Mine around town gets 12-14. I get better than 9 with a 36ft trailer and two trucks on it.

Check to see if your fuel filter caps are ok. I just had the same problem. The oil change guy over tightened the fuel filter cap and cracked it.
