03 F350 Rough Idle when cold

I just bought an 03 F350 with the 7.3 powerstroke. The truck runs and drives great except when it is cold. It runs/idles rough and lacks power for about 3-4 minutes and then all of a sudden it gets smooth and has lots more power. Could I just need to change the glow plugs? The truck just had a fresh fuel filter/oil change service within the last 500 miles and it was doing the same thing prior to that service. The truck has high mileage so it might be time for some glow plugs. Any input would be appreciated....thanks in advance

Re: 03 F350 Rough Idle when cold

the 00-03 7.3 have a heating element in the Y pipe after the turbo for quicker warm up. a lot of guys like to remove this for an unrestricked air flow.check and see if you still have it. rough idle at start up could be the injector wire harness under the valve cover. go to the "powerstoke forum" there are a lot of knowledgealbe guy there.
