replacing cv joint... in pulling off old the spindle nut stripped the spindle thread of old cv joint... this is okay cuz it was bad any way... I also suspect the hub is bad and would like to drive test with new cv joint prior to purchasing a new hub... however, once i put that spindle nut on the new cv joint spindle... i am sure to strip if i have to remove to replace hub... I guess what my question would be... is there a nut out there that I can use temporarily to test hub?

ok... i figured it out... metric nut size m10... but not sure which pitch... either 1.00, 1.25, or 1.50... bought one of each not sure which one ended up fitting... anyway... BEWARE when pulling your 4wd hub for any reason... you will likely need to replace cv axle... or at least re-thread the spindle... the nut that comes with cv axle is meant to only go on once... removing ruins the spindle threads
