I just got an '05 f350 XLT sd reg. cab, V10 4x2 cab and chassis which I mounted my canteen body on. This truck is 2 weeks old and I already locked myself out of it twice! Now my last f350 I drove for 7 years and never did this. I have since hidden a spare key in the body. I thought Autolock was only if you get the keyless entry remote package from Ford? I have power windows & locks, but I had an aftermarket remote starter installed which also controls the door locks from the new remote, (it is a Valet model if that matters.) I tried the manual's directions of pressing unlock 3 times and then lock 3 times, i followed every step, tried it a dozen times or so and never got and horn chirp or changes. I can't seem to figure the locks out, everytime I put it in drive they lock, sometimes when I close the door they lock, other times when I drive away they lock. What is going on here? Can I shut this feature off? Do all XLT's come with Autolock? if not what is the name for the system I have?

There should be detailed instructions in the OWNERS manual to disable this function.....although I have not looked ina 2005 manual,it is in my 2002 manual......

Microsoft programmers got into Ford LOL. I spent more than a few hours on the side of the road in DFW after hopping out of the car momentarily and trying to jump back in. Car locked itself and I stood there watching it with the engine running. WTF?????
