hey guys this is my first time trying the forum thing. I have a 2005 superduty that will turn over fine but wont start. it did it to me once and then after about 20 min of messing around it started and had been starting ever since and then the other day it would not start. I checked the fuel filter and it is clean and i also drained the fuel water separator and there was little to no water in it. I am thinking maybe fuel pump but i am not sure. the truck was running fine and no loss of power at all. Any help would be apprecieated
Sounds like your working on a 6.0 diesel. Could be any number of things. First check oil level and if fuel pump is running. Turn the key on and see if you can hear, feel it.its on the frame rail in same housing as water separator. If you have a way to check codes that would help
As r-clar said, it could be a myriad of things on a 6.0, but I had a similar problem and it was the FICM. I resoldered the connections and all was well.
06 F350 Super duty won't start.
My F350 turns over just fine but won't fire. Drive about a 100 yards and just died. Like turning the key off. Won't since. Got oil pressure got fuel as well. New lift pump a yr ago. The top end was done at the time. I'm not sure what to do now
Have you scanned for codes? There's several things that can do this.
