16" wheels on a '93 F-150 4WD????
Hopefully someone will be able to help me out here. I am not super knowledgeable when it comes to mechanical things so please bear with me. I am buying a 1993 F-150 4WD Super Cab (not that the Super Cab matters) and I would like to put new tires on it. It currently has polished aluminum wheels (they look pretty nice) that have P265/75R15 tires on them. The tires are mismatched (brand) and the rear are about 50% through their treadlife, the fronts are almost new.
I would like to put 16" wheels on this truck. The 15" wheels are the 5 lug pattern. Are there any plain steel 16" wheels that will fit this truck? Money is a bit tight to go out and buy 4 new 16" tires and nice custom wheels at the same time so I figured if I bought plain wheels and good tires I could get the new wheels at a later date. What would be the biggest 16" wheel/tire that could fit on this truck (without any lifting etc.)
Any suggestions?
Also, I am looking at Bridgestone Dueler A/T REVOs. Does anyone have other suggestions for tires? I don't want cheap tires - I want tires with good snow/wet/dry traction and that are good/quiet on the road too. So far the Bridgestones seem like the best bet.
Thanks for any ideas/suggestions!
