1979 Ford F150 carb rebuild

I have a 1979 F150 that needs a carb rebuild kit. Where do I find one? I tried searching google all day and I can't find it, so please let me know how to find this type of information out!

Will the kit come with instructions? I've never done any work on an auto before.

You can get a kit from most parts stores. They come with instructions but are pretty intricate. I'd suggest you buy a rebuilt one instead. Unless you want to take a chance and if it doesn't work out, use it for a core to get a rebuilt one.

Re: 1979 Ford F150 carb rebuild

What is the part number I need? Is this what I need:

part number: 82092 for 5.0L Exc. Cal. Ford 2150

What does all that mean?

I'm not sure. That's the carb they came with but it could have been changed to another kind. Look at the carb and see what number is on it. Usually there's a tag. Sometimes it's stamped in it somewhere.

Definitely not a job for a beginner. Take rtg's advice and buy a rebuilt or find a re-builder in your area to rework it.
