1985 F150 - Need help from experts....
I recently picked up an '85 F150 and am hoping I can get some help with the motor. It's a 351 4V H.O. and I really don't know what that means beyond 4 barrel High Output. The truck has less than 60,000 miles on it and has been thoughtfully neglected by the farmer I bought it off of. Found it in a garage and got it for a thousand bucks. Any way, the C6 has since called it quits and the shop told me that it's never been serviced. Said it's a great tranny, which I agree with, and proof that they'll last even if they aren't taken care of. I had a '94 Bronco and the E40D was a costly tranny to replace. Nice that this was a third of the price. Any way, I'm thinking about doing some work to the engine as I have some exhaust leaks. Just wondering if Ford did anything special with these motors or not. Any help, or links to further info would definitely be appreciated. Thanks guys.
