1986 F150 - 4 Spd Manual with Granny Low

My son's truck has this same transmission I had as a kid - my throw out bearing would rattle when in neutral and clutch not pressed at idle. He says it shouldn't do that - I told him that is normal for that transmission sitting in neutral at idle with the clutch not pressed in.

Can anyone verify this for me? That way I don't have to here " I need a new clutch"...LOL!!!

Thanks

Russ

IMHO big difference... normal- I would say NO Not uncommon- could be.
does this mean he needs a new clutch.... very difficult to say (of course)

Reminds me of when my wife went to the Dr. and said her feet were numb. Dr. said "that's normal".... REALLY? BS If so, something is wrong with mine because they are not numb.
