cool 1986 F250 wiper arm windshield trim removal

I have a 1986 F250. There is a reoccurring problem with leaves getting into the resistor for the heating and air conditioning fan control, smoldering and sending a smoky smell and once full on smoke into the cab. I take the hatch/resistor off clean it out the best I can with compressed air and the shop vac, put it back together and it's fine for a week to a month, then the whole ordeal starts all over. So I figure I'm gonna solve the problem by taking the grill between the hood and windshield off and cleaning the leaves out. I've taken all the obvious screws out but it seems to be attached under the windshield trim and I can't get the wiper arms off. My questions are how do you remove the windshield trim? (do you need a special tool?) and how do you remove the wiper arms?

You will need a windshield clip tool.. however i bet if you have a local auto glass shop in your town you could drive by a shop slip them a few bucks and have them take the trim off for you. If you do not know what your doing you will damage the chrome..
