Question 1989 F150 1 or 2 temp sensors?

Hi guys

My Temp guage needle never makes it past the very first part of the cold side of the guage.

I'm wondering whether the truck has 1 or 2 sensor, if only one the truck might be running rich (trying to warm the engine up) due to the very cold reading

Or does the Efi computer run its own coolent temp sensor & the dash gauge runs a block temp sensor??

Wot to other people get Litres/100 km wise (petrol)
I seem to be getting 21L/100

James

Yeah that seems about right, I'm running around 20L per 100ks (18 mile per gallon?)

yes jbon the gauge that you see in the dash gets its own sender and would not cause the engine to run rich no matter what reading it has.
a good test is to remove the rad cap and start the engine from cold and watch to see if it rises as the water temp rises if you cant stick your finger in the water (too hot) but the dash is showing the engine is cold then that is bad but if you have no thermostat at all or if it is stuck open your coolant temp will never reach operating temp.
your coolant temp should be around 195 F when the engine is at operating temp.
oh and i only get about 86 km to 21 ltrs of fewl.
