Glancing under the truck usually works. If you see 2 beams, it's TIB!

The type of fuel has nothing to do with the body. Contact any lift kit supplier.

How could we? You didn't say what it was.

First thing would be: DON'T lift it. That adds a LOT of drag. It's geared toward gas, but read this:

Re: 1989 Ford F250 Reg cab Longbed nobturbo 7.3

thanks for taking your time to reply i just got it the other day so I havent had a chance to figure out my mpg's I was just wondering if anybody knew approximatly what it should be. I have surfed and called many lift dealers and everyone so far say they dont make a body kit for diesels. One question since i dont have a turbo does that make it a IDI. It has an air filter like on the old 350 chevys how would i put a cold air intake on that anything else you could tell me would be interesting about this kind of truck and appreciated and it is actually a 1988 thank you James

Well, just because they don't make a specific kit for that particular cab/bed configuration doesn't mean you can't buy a kit & add/omit components to install it on your truck. It's not like an engine part that has to fit precisely - many people use hockey pucks for body lifts.

If you want to read about trucks like that, click my black Bronco in my sig & look thru some of the technical albums, including the TSBs at the bottom. I don't have much info on diesels, though. An old edition of the Haynes manual is also a good investment.

I don't know which engines were DI/IDI, but TheDieselStop would be able to help you with that.
