Hello all, I'm new here and I want to tank you all in advance. I just purchased a 1990 single cab F150 4x4 with 140K and the 4.9L. with 5 speed manual trans. The truck runs good. I read on the manual that my truck needs W80 for the 5spd. manual trans that my truck has, however when I drain the oil, it wasn't W80 it was Mercron(trans fluid(Red) I was reading on the manual that only models from 92 and up use Mercron. Since I got red oil from the tranny, I put the same(Mercron)I was going to put W80-90 but decided to keep it the same. What do you guys think? Thaks.
