1992 f250

I just bought a 1992 f250 3/4 ton 4x4 with the 7.3 in it. Automatic, single cab long bed. Was wondering what the fuel mileage would be? how often i should change the oil? And how long can i leave the truck plugged in? and it has 217,000 miles on it, is this good/bad?

Its my first diesel and im very interested in learning a few things to make my truck last a long time.

the truck is in really great condition except my neighbor told me the tranny has been rebuilt and goes out when its under a load. I gave $800 cash for it. was it a good deal?

Does it run and pass inspection? For $800, you can't expect much. Any time I buy a used auto, I change the oil.

Welcome aboard. That's an old 7.3. I don't even think that's powerstroke. Old IDI injection. Should be decent fuel mileage just not a lot of power by today's standards.

Re: 1992 f250

The only thing this truck needs is glow plugs and a driver side window. Its in very nice condition to me. The only reason i got it so cheap is because my neighbor has 5 trucks already and lives alone and said he didnt want to sell it but hed let me have it for 800 just cause he knew me realy well.
and its not the powerstroke.
