confused 1993 Flareside Overheats while ilding Help

i have a 1993 F150 with the V6 and while im just ilding at a drivethur or somewhere the trucks temp goes up fast then ill turn off the truck untill i drive off then the temp goes back down to normal untill i ilda again...Has 140K on the v6 and new spark plugs and plug wires, New a/c system and radiator..dont think it was flushed tho...could it be a bad t-stat....thanks for any help

Check the engine fan. The fan clutch may not be locking up when hot.
