1995 300ci question

I have a 1995 Ford F-150 that hasn't been driven in a while because my sweetie told me it had a knock. Well I finally got around to getting it in my shop. I think the little noise is from the EGR manifold that comes off of each cylinder. I replaced this piece once before due to the ?same noise.

My question: Do any of ya'll know if I can delete this little manifold and plug the holes without getting a CEL? I think I will get the light, is there a way to cheat and make it think that everything is OK.

I'm a aircraft mech. by trade so I not worried about working on it, but I have searched to try and find an answer. I work on my own vehicles and some others. I can just replace it but trust me it sucks, as I said I did it once before and really just want to delete the dang thing.

Thanks in advance for any help to delete it...

That's not EGR - it's 2ndry air. The EGR doesn't use a manifold; just a single pipe going to the EGR valve behind the throttle body. And there's nothing in the 2ndry air manifold that would make noise - it's just a manifold pipe. It can echo as the check valve closes, but that noise would be normal. Try removing the air hose from the check valve - if the valve is puffing, it's bad, and only the valve needs to be replaced.

You can't because it's illegal (regardless of local inspections), and discussing illegal activities is a violation of the user agreement on this BBS (& most others). Deleting or defeating emissions systems is also counterproductive. Read this.
