1995 f150 starts and runs but quits randomly

it is stock with 215,000 miles 351w/e4od 4x4 it starts perfectly and runs for a while then quits and wont start for a few minutes then it starts and runs perfectly until i shut it off but just today it started and ran at idle for about 5 minutes and then i drove it to the dumpster and it died then about 3 minutes later it started and ran for a short while and died it continued like that til i got back to my apartment, when it quits it just quits no stumble no hesitation so im stumped it has a new TPS and IAC and i cleaned and replaced battery connections i dont have a scanner and im afraid to drive it anywhere and i dont have a trailer to pull it with, well sorry for the run on sentence but im in a hurry to find out what you guys think. thanks.

Re: 1995 f150 starts and runs but quits randomly

This behavior is sometimes seen when a fuel pump is going bad.

The pump works intermittenly, but will stick after it is run for a while and then the engine is shut off.

If pump not working, tapping on the fuel tank might(?) get the pump to run again.

Suggest you check out a possible fuel pump issue.
