mad 1996 Ford F 150 4X4 truck Poor gas mileage What we've had fixed Wht else can we check

We just recently bought a 1996 Ford F150 4X4. We had the catyletic converter replaced, fuel filter, spark plugs and wires. What else can we check?

What kind of mileage are you getting and what do you think you should be getting?

Did you gap the plugs correctly?

You can also look at: distributor cap, rotor, coil, air filter (get a K&N), toe in/out, timing, use a nice synthetic oil like Royal Purple, replace 02 sensors, clean the injectors, clean the throttle body, etc. Keep the tailgate up when driving (moving air over the bed creates a swirling air bubble in the bed and the other air floats over the bubble of air making you aerodynamic).

Hell, according to Obama, just fill your tires will air and that will save a ton (btw: it won't save a ton but it might add 1-3%)!

You could also check the drag on the rear brakes.
