I am a ford owner and I have a 1999 F250 SD 4X4 V10. Recently my oil pressure has been fluctuating and the low oil light comes on. The pressure will drop and remain for 10 or 15 seconds and then go up. The oil level is right. I haven't been driving it because I don't want to cause any damage if there is a problem. Could this be a main bearing or oil sending unit? Not sure of how to rectify. The truck has 190.000 and no problems.

If oil pressure is really low at idle only, then it's most likely main bearings. :(

Does it do this at idle without revving the engine? If so, probably the sending unit.

Yes, it fluctuates at idle and I have left it parked since it might be mains. I will check the sending unit. Thank you.

Generally, if it were the mains, you would have good oil pressure until the engine warmed up, then pressure would fall and stay until you revved it up.
