we got a 2000 f 350 diesel turbo 6 sp with a performance chip in it when i give it gas a lot of black smoke pours out the tailpipe we checked the map sensor it seams to be ok any help would be great

um i see no problem with this, most people are trying to pour black smoke when they take off with a diesel.

yea we just thought it was a little excessive also is there a way to test if the turbo is going bad

Well what kinda turbo do they use? u can usually check the turbine and check for excessive free play..... and for your black smoke question....

Yup yup - black smoke means lots of fuel which = more power. Your chip and your throttle foot are the culprits.
