2000 F150 rear axle seals
I'm new to this site and hope this works out. I have a 2000 F150 and giving $$$ to a garage just doesn't seem worth it.
I had to replace the rear axle seals and it snowballed into emergence brake replacement and new emergency brake cables. I did have some difficulty finding details on the job. Thankfully, I worked on equipment for many years and figured this one out.
Not sure how to determine what rear I have... I know it's 3:55 but that’s about it. I understand I can measure the gear housing, but not sure what to measure. Pic attached.
It took 3 quarts of fluid before it reached the bottom of the fill hole. This seems like something to check after a ride or two... fluid migrating through the axle and all.
