2001 7.3L auto misses just off idle

My father in law has a 01 super duty with the 7.3L diesel and and auto trany. just off idle the engine seems to have a miss. It seems like more of a specfic throttle position and RPM range (mainly low rpms) that this occurs. Also when letting out of the gas there is a smaller blip when the engine seems to have an issiue. its got a new motocraft fuel filter in it. no other problems, no lights, and the tach never changes. This is worse when pulling. Has anyone heard of this? Thanks Todd

hey bud before you replace injectors check the wiring harness that goes through the valve cover i had the same problem. if you do end up replacing injectors buy rebuilt ones and buy the special tool but i hope it is the wiring harness its only about $360 labor and parts or if you do it yourself about $99 just be ready to work and be carefull with the parts.

thanks for the reply. he ended up replacing the crank? or cam sensor. (the one that always fails. it got a lot better. there is still a little bit of a tramble, but nothing near as bad. (he took it to the dealer, they had trouble figuiring it out and seguested the sensor, but could not prove it.)
