I keep getting the check engine light on. I went to get it check out and was told it was the camp shaft sensor. I replaced it and had the computer get the code erased. but the light keeps coming back with the same code. Has any one on the forum had this same problem.

If the connections are good, you'll probably have to have a shop do a scope check on that circuit.

I had a 98 Ranger with the 4cyl motor that had the same problem. I'm sure there's a thread on it here somewhere. Nevertheless, the problem for me wasn't the sensor, it was the wiring coming right off the sensor. And what a pain too cuz the sensor was on the motor where you can barely see or get your hands into. Ended up running new wires for it and it all worked fine. Different vehicle, same problem.... hope this could be of some help to you.
