Re: 2001 ford f 150 electrical problems
Had the same problem. You need to fix the leak first. It is one of two places. Keep battery disconected both power and ground. I used a hose to find the leak. It is either leaking from the front windshield or the sunroof and possibly the firewall. The water is comming in by the driver's side A-pillar. It then goes right down the main wiring harness to the main fuse block. There the water fills up and starts shorting everything out. You won't blow a fues because it is inside the block itself. Mine was so coroded with stuff you would not believe. The new part is about $200 and it is not that hard to replace. I used a whole can of contact cleaner to try to fix mine. Don't do it. Part of the fuse block had melted from all the shorts. I have it apart now am going to take some photos. Seems we are not alone.
