2002 F250 Cruise Control repair

Any info available on repairing inoperable cruise control on a 2002 F250 w/5.4 engine? Truck has had the cruise control recall repair done. Dash light comes on indicating cruise is "on", but there is no control of speed. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 2002 F250 Cruise Control repair

Bear with me here: With the cruise control turned 'on' the light will appear on the dash. In order to activate the cruise control you have to press set. If you press cancel the cruise control will shut down and you'll have to put your foot on the pedal to resume speed unless you select 'resume' on the wheel.

With that said, if the light is 'on' and cruise control will not 'set' a given road speed be sure to check the vacuum lines under the hood to make sure they're not cracked or broken. Without proper pressure the cruise control will not work, even if the light on the dash is 'on'.

Thanks 360ci. I'll check those vacuum lines.
