2003 F150 SuperCrew cab oem Nerf bars

I bought some nerf bars off of some guy on Craigslist.org and when I went to install them they didnt fit on my truck. The frame is too far in and the mounting deal on the step bar doesnt go back far enough to mount to it? A freind of mine told me that you need a mounting kit. and another told me that it might be for another ford truck. They are oem Ford Step. Can someone shed some light on this for me. thank you ...

Sorry to hear that, the nerf bar should come with simple bolt on mounting systems that doesn't even require frame drilling for installation. Now I suggest if ever you'll buy another, go for the Bullet bars, they are available with vehicle specific mounting kits so you'll no longer worry about installation issues. I recently purchased a Lund Superstep running board kit since being an impatient SUV owner, I want easy and fast installation it's custom fit so it's nice.
