My 2005 XLT 5.4L transmission (AODE?) jumps or bangs intermittently under light load at 40-50 mph....works fine on highway or pulling away from stop...seems to happen when going from coast to light throttle at 40 to 50 mph as if it's not sure what gear to be in. I took it to Ford and they changed the transnission fluid but it's still doing it. No codes were found. Bad sensor, torque converter? Appreciate any help!

I'd take it back to Ford and tell them their recommendation didn't work. Did they drive it to experience it themselves?

had the same happen to mine ,2004 5.4 keep driving till check engine light came on code p0171 cleaned maf sensor ,no help, cleared code drove a little longer it coded again this time 2 codes p0303andp0171 took the #3 coil out it had water down in the plug hole blew it out and put in new coil its working fine now. saved old coil think it was just the water in the spark plug hole. I thought it was the trans too
