2006 F-250 TBC problem?

Hi was wondering if anyone might know what might be causeing a problem with my intergrated trailer brake control. When I push the brakes the trailer brakes are not working, when I slide the control on the TBC unit the brakes work just fine. I tested the volts coming out of the 7way with a meter and found that when the brakes are pressed no matter how hard, it's only getting 2 volts to the back, but when I slide the control on the unit it gets 11 volts. It still shows 2 volts no matter if I set the TBC unit to 10 or 4, but it does change the 11volts as it should with the setting. Im confused on what might be the problem. If anyone might have a suggestion I would greatly appreciate it thanks in advance.

That's interesting. I gather this is Ford's built in trailer brake controller?

If it is, you'll have to find the wiring diagram and make sure everything inside is connected properly. Manual control is made to override auto control so I would bet that there's a wiring problem, possibly a short, inside the controller itself.

Re: 2006 F-250 TBC problem?

It is in fact the factory pre installed intergrated system. I will take it out tomorrow and go through all the wireing, I think there is only one wire that comes from the the unit to the brake pedal and I believe thats the brake light wire that tells the unit that the brake is being engaged but I will check, thanks.
