352 Vs. 390 Telling the difference

Hey guys I was wondering if ya'll would know the easyest way to tell the difference between a 352 cid and a 390 cid motor I have this 1967 F350 Tow truck and from decoding the VIN plack I was able to find out that the stock motor was supposed to be the 352 cid V8....I am trying to find out if the motor in the truck is the original....If it is the original I am planning on rebuilding it if it's not the original I am going to put a 460 cid V8 in it...

Where are the casting number on the block? I have heard that you have to drop the tranny and remove the flywheel to see it....that's a lot of work....Is it stamped on the side of the motor anywhere....It says 352 stamped on the front of the block on the right hand side just above the fuel pump but I know that all the V8's of this era say 352 on them....

I want to restore this truck as it's a bute.....

Re: 352 Vs. 390 Telling the difference

Here's a couple of pics of the old beast if anyone was wonderin what she looked like...picked it up with the original Title for $500......Motor runs but needs piston rings or something it smokes like a chimney that's why I wanna find out if this is the original motor or not because if it;s not I'm not gonna rebuild it...I will just throw in a crate motor or somethin....IDK

Whata you all think I know someone out there will like this ol thing....
