360 vs 351M
I have the opportunity to get a 360 v8 out of a '76 F150. Don't know if there is anything wrong with it. From my understanding, the shifting mechanisim(sp?) went out, and the guy drug it to his pasture and left it there for a couple of years.
My question is this: For building a street/strip engine which would be the better engine, the 360 or the 351M/400. I have a buddy at work that told me if I get the 360 he would sell me a set of heads allready ported and polished (2V), and a Holly 4bbl intake, for $100. I guess I'm looking for a collective opinion here on which is the better engine, as far as obtaining HP and all that.
