i recently bought a 2008 f-350 5.4L V8, and i think it could use a little more power. my goal is to drop a 6.8 V10 into it. aside from the block, would i need to change anything else (trans, bell housing, pumps, etc), or are the mod engines generally compatible in that regard?

also, if/when i get this project done, will my truck run the same in terms of piston timing, spark plugs firing, and gears changing? i have heard that an engine swap will usually cause a tolerable, but noticeable difference in feel to the way the vehicle drives.
any help is appreciated (and please don't knock me for getting the 5.4 )

Your best bet is to go out and find a truck with the v10 and buy it. There's a lot of electronics besides all the mechanicals that would cost more than buying a truck already built that way. Have you driven the v10? The newer 5.4s we have in our fleet will almost outrun them. Mine has the 5.4 and I'm very happy with it. Since the newer version 5.4 came out, they're better than the early ones.
