78 F-150 Issue - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hey, i got a 1978 F-150 Ranger. I recently replaced the gas tank and instead of running steel gas lines i decided to run rubber lines. When I go to start the truck it'll fire right up run normal for 10-15 seconds then sputter and die. No matter what i do the truck always ends up dying. Any help would be greatly appreciate since i depend on the truck to get to work.

Replaced parts:
Brand new gas tank w/ fuel sending unit.
Brand new fuel pump.

There has to be a flow problem. If the hose is being sucked fhut, the flow will stop. The hose may be the problem. Try setting the original steel line in place without mounting it to see for sure.

^ x2 Sounds like hose collapsing if it's not reinforced hose .
