82 F150 front brake pads?

I have to put front brake pads on my 82 F150 2 wheel drive half ton and I guess there are 2 different sizes/kinds. The automotive supply tells me to either bring the old ones down which I cannot do or remove the back hub and measure it. The back hub size tells what front pads I need. Does anyone know an easier way to tell what the proper front pads are that I need. I cannot dismantle the vehicle where I live. thanks, Eric

It would probably be easier to just buy both and return the ones you don't use.

Click my black Bronco in my sig & look thru the Brakes & Hubs album. It shows several 4WD setups, but yours will be generally the same procedure.

Re: 82 F150 front brake pads?

they should be either 10" or 11". 10 is standered and 11 is the undgrade. i have an 82 2wdr with 11 but most are 10. measure the rotors.
