fuzzyfireman Registered User Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: quyon, Qc, Canada Posts: 18	'83 Ranger diesel engine info I just got a 1983 ford ranger diesel engine, with 4-speed transmission. I'm going to transplant it into a project vehicle. It's a 2.2 litre mazda (actually built for mazda by perkins, supposedly). I've been asking questions about this engine/trans combo for about 4 months now on this site, with no answers. I've found most of the answers i need, Except the recommended oil type for this engine and trans. Also I need to know if the trans is simply a regular ford ranger 4-speed, which would allow me to get a complete driveshaft & yoke at a scrapyard, instead of buying one new. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thx.....
