86 F-150 RPM Gauge short?
Truck ran fine forever... Then the engine blew (loose rod threw side of block). 302EFI-- I put a fresh short block in and it started and ran fine for about a day. The last time it started, all of the gauges went crazy and it died. Now when I turn the key on, the rpm gauge pegges out, and it won't start. Everything else seems to be fine. All other gauges read true, and I have power to everything. I've changed the alt., alt. harness, engine harness, distributer, dist. chip, etc. When I unplug the distributor, then turn the key, the gauge dosen't peg the needle. I'm no good at trouble shooting EFI!
