86 F250 dash lamps out

Hello, I have a 1986 F250 6.9l with every dash light out. I have stripped the dash down and determined it wasn't simply burnt out lamps.

I just bought the truck, it has an aftermarket stereo. The rest of the electricals work properly.

I am thinking it is a bad dimmer or the stereo causing this?

Thanks for your help.

Are you talking about just the illumination lamps, or even the warning & indicator lamps, too? The illumination circuit is LB/R & comes from the headlamp switch's potentiometer. The terminals on the headlight switch & its connector are known to burn, so inspect them carefully.
