'87 F250 4x4 - speed sensor
hi folks, 2 questions ragarding the speed sensor on my (new to me) '87 F250 4x4 302ci. 4 speed std tranny.
1) if there any trick to removing the old speed sensor from the tranny? When I remove the bolt and clip, I'm left with 2 pieces, the top (that the cable and wires connect to) and the sensor tip. This is completely unlike the replacement part, which is a single barrel that does (appear to) come apart. This leads me to believe the barrel is stuck in the hole, but I don't want to start prying and discover I'm screwing up the tranny.
2) I discovered that not only the sensor was defective, but the cable end is broken at the sensor. I thought these were electronic -- does the speedo use both electric AND manual cable?
