i just bought an 87 f250 and i was wondering if anyone had any tips for a good sound system to put in it. its not the ext cab though and id like to at least be able to have an extra set of speakers instead of just the ones on the door to listen to.


just one other question too i dont know is anyone has had this issue before but the guy who i bought it from hoooked the battery up wrong and it wont charge it starts but wont charge. im not sure if its a fusible link or if i blew the voltage regulator. it has the 351w carb engine in it not the efi one. if anyone has any suggestions let me know

You need to check alt. output. Needs to be at least 13.5 volts (with accessories on) to charge the battery. If not, replace the alt. If you have adequate output from the alt the battery may be shot.

hey about the sound system for your truck I have a Sony Xplode CDX-FW570powered bazooka tube in my 88 F250 regular cab and Sony Xplode 225watt 5-1/4" Speakers in the doors and Sony Xplode 225watt 6x9" Speakers in individual boxes behind the seats. BTW it sounds great but won't blow your eardrums completely out,(only 3/4 of the way out LOL).

now about the alt/batt problem you might want to check out Summit Racing catalog and get one of their 140 amp single wire alt, just remember to blip the throttle after starting to get the alt to start.
