Just bought a 90 250 with a 5.8 liter . once it warms up the oil pressure drops to nothing at idle rev it up and the pressure jumps back up, let the revs drop and the pressure drops off again. have changed the pressure sensor still have the same problem.

i would get the presure checked it could be an oil pump or worn engine bearings

Put in a temporary mechanical gauge and see what readings you get.

I'm betting on worn bearings but as Fonz says, good idea to check it with a different gauge.

So got the 302 in there. Donor motor came out of a 87 kept all the emission controls and wiring from the 5.8, fired right up purring nice
