93 F-250 460

When i get to 40 mph the rpm stop climbing an i start to hear a loud hissing noise what would cause this an were would i began to fix it?

Does this happen in overdrive, direct drive (1:1, generally third gear), or both?

It could be something as simple as a vacuum leak. Worst case would be a transmission problem. Is the engine light on? If so, be sure to have it scanned for the codes and post'm here.

Any more info on the 'hiss' sound would be beneficial for myself, and others to help diagnose.

I wonder if it could be a clogged exhaust system? Cat, Muffler?

i remove the cat an gut it out an put it back on i don't know any were els it could be plug?

i am not sure if it happen in overdrive but i can find that out but i dose happen when overdrive is off. Ill test it out an c if it dose it in over drive. What kind of vac leak could it be?
