95' F250 w/351 keeps shutting off.

My 250 runs for a couple of minutes and then shuts off. If I switch tanks, it will start back up. Then it does it again after a few minutes. Any help out there?

Re: 95' F250 w/351 keeps shutting off.

Can you hear the fuel pump run when the key is first turned on? Can you hear running after engine start up. Could be a pump issue. Above the intake manifold is a shrader valve attached to fuel rail I think (if its like mine) you should be able to test system pressure with a guage if you borrow one. Need some one familiar to post with about how much fuel pressure you should see after the pump kicks off, I cant remember but this could tell you if its even a fuel issue at all. Or you could be on to the problem if its the tank selector, or a plugged filter, my 90' has a filter in line forward of the front tank on the same side, sitting inside the frame rail. Hope this helps
