Question 96 f150 5.0 Transmission Leaking

Hello. New to this forum.

Purchased an automatic 1996 f150 5.0 for my sign business here about 10 months ago. This truck is just a basic XL work truck model w/ 77k.

Noticed that I was leaking on the back of my transmission pan and thought it was just the pan gasket. Went ahead and bought a TCI pan cover and have it on with no fluid in pan right now. I torqued each bolt to 15 lbs tightening each bolt in a cross pattern like recommended.

I noticed fluid is still leaking down the back of the pan from the top somewhere. I have not put any fluid in the transmission pan since I just put cover back on so its coming from above pan somewhere.

I'm thinking its a rear seal and I'm in for some money at the transmission shop but if anyone has any suggestions let me know. I am going to be looking at the truck more and see if I can isolate where the leak is coming from.
