I have a 97 F150 it was my 1st vehical and the 4.6 that was in it went out. So i got a 5.4 engine to put in it. Then the dealership I was working at went under and the parts manager told me to take a box home and it ended up being a lighting s/c. So I figured I would make a 4X4 lighting. I am rebuilding the trans and putting a shift kit in it. But my question is if anyone has done this which I am sure it has been done and if the stock transfer case will hold up?

I looked up the parts for your year and they had 3 transfer cases available. Manual, automatic or electric shift. There's no mention of engine size so I'd guess they're the same

but i was wondering if it would hold up to having the added power of the super charger in 4X4 weither it be on the trails or track. prob goin to just put it on and if it breaks then i will get a beefed up one nut just gettin some other peoples input it

I misunderstood what you meant. As far as holding up, I couldn't say but hopefuly someone will check in on that.

yea hopefully but it will be a slow build prob won't really have time to work on it till this winter anyways but any advice from anyone would be nice
