Hi guys, i am in need of major help, i just bought an 1997 V6 4.2l f150 from some guy for $400 because it was burning coolant, i just went through the entire top end and did, All new gaskets, had the heads checked for warping and cracks, did the timing cover gasket, new water pump, EVERYTHING on the top end was cleaned and redone, compression is 150+ on all cylinders, the rear drivers side plug was the only one leaking after running it.....someone please give me some ideas on wtf is wrong, thanks, Josh

1997 V6 4.2l f150, the top end was just rebuilt and its still burning coolant...

Is it leaking or is it really burning the coolant? Have you had the block check test on the coolant to see if exhaust is getting in? Is it overheating?

It's actually burning the coolant, truck sounds runs, drives amazing besides puffing out big clouds of white smoke, still has tonnes of power, it's only burning the coolant in one cylinder also (that's the only plug that's wet with coolant) and what do you mean by block check on the coolant?

Oh and it's not over heating, btw

A block check is a liquid that turns color if there's exhaust gas in the cooling system.

How do you preform one? Is there a kit I could buy? Or does a shop have to do it? Thanks for the help
