'97 F150 froze up?

After getting the oil changed in my 1997 Ford F-150 4.6L with 150K miles at a local quick lube, I made one stop and my truck wouldn't start. I could hear the starter engage the flywheel, but couldn't turn it over at all. Oil was clean and full. I bench tested the starter and it tests good. I put a breaker bar on the crankcase nut and I could barely move it. Oil level was about 2 quarts low before oil change. Any ideas what may have happened here, or what to try to break it free? Thanks

See if this helps

Diagnose Engine No Start or Run

Did you have to get it towed?

yes i did have it towed. After lots of troubleshooting, i found the motor started right up with the serpentine belt removed. I found that the A/C compressor pulley is locked up. Any way to break it free without removing the compressor?

Re: '97 F150 froze up?

im just wondering for a quick fix, does anyone know if i were to buy the serpentine belt for this motor (4.6 L ) WITHOUT A/C, would it be the proper fit (just bypassing the A/C compressor?)

the belt routing diagram under the hood shows with and without A/C, and Auto Zone has a belt for this motor without A/C

I don't remember seeing a 4.6 without air. Maybe a idler pulley to take its place?

Not sure, but the previous 5.0 had an idler to replace the AC.
