ABS light and Ball Joint question 97 F-150 - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

My ABS light has been on for a few weeks but I haven't noticed any difference in the breaks just wondering what if could be? I also had all four ball joint replaced about a year ago a couple days ago I went to Breaks Plus to have an alignment done and they told me there were all shot and they only have 8k on them. What are they thinking! Does anyone know how to tell if the ball joints need to be replaced?

Let me guess, they told you it would not hold an alignment & they just happen to do ball joint work??

I'd go somewhere else and have it all checked out.

They're only interest was putting a new set of ball joints on at the cost of $800 even after I told them the ones I had on were only a year old. After that they just took it off and that was it. Unreal service. Don't ever go to a breaks plus for an oil change there terrible the only thing they do is change the oil.

I know people are going to gripe for what I'm fixing to say,,,Some of the best front end alignment work I have ever had was my local Sears service center.

The guy who put them in checked it today and thought they were ok so I took it over to big o tire shop to have an alignment done and they told me that the lower ball joints were shot. Luckly there under waranty but I can't believe they needed to be replaced after one year.

If you ever have to shell out for new ones, request a reputable brand like MOOG.
